One Gaithersburg team from first sketch to final punch list

AC Remodeling is a family-owned firm that has offered design-build remodeling in Gaithersburg, MD since 2009. The same team draws your kitchen, bath or basement, prices it, pulls the permits and builds it under a single contract.

The owners run every job, so the people at your first meeting are the people on your project.

The firm takes complete remodels only, not repairs or handyman work. Clients point to the same details again and again: a 3D rendering and written proposal before demolition, one project manager, a written update each week, and a crew that shows up on time and cleans up every day. Kitchen Remodeling

Custom and semi-custom cabinetry, mostly painted maple, with quartzite or engineered quartz tops and layered lighting on dimmers. Wall removals, beams and new plumbing fall under one permit. Plan on 3 to 5 weeks of design, 3 to 6 weeks for permits and ordering, then 6 to 9 weeks of building.

Bathroom Remodeling

Primary and hall baths taken back to the studs. Showers get a Schluter or equal waterproofing system and are flood-tested before tile goes up. Low-threshold showers, blocking for grab bars and comfort-height fixtures are offered for living in place. Construction usually runs 4 to 6 weeks.

Basement Remodeling

Moisture, insulation, electrical and plumbing are handled before the walls close. Then the space is planned around how you will use it: a wet bar, gym, guest suite with proper egress, theater or office, drawn in 3D and built by one crew under one permit.

Design-Build

Design, engineering, permits and construction stay with one accountable team. Designers work beside the crews who build, so your selections are priced against real costs early. The design retainer is credited toward your construction contract when you go ahead with the build.

Questions Gaithersburg homeowners ask before they call

Do you offer free estimates?

No. AC Remodeling does not offer free estimates. Every project starts with a no-obligation consultation, in your home or by video, about your goals, timeline and investment range. Design then begins with a signed design agreement and a retainer, and that retainer is credited toward your construction contract if you build with the firm.

How long does a kitchen remodel take in Montgomery County?

The firm's kitchen timeline has three stages: 3 to 5 weeks for measurements, 3D plans and selections, 3 to 6 weeks for county permits and cabinet ordering, then 6 to 9 weeks of construction. Final detailing, a deep clean and the warranty handoff follow. Bathrooms run shorter, with 4 to 6 weeks of construction.

Do you pull the permits?

Yes. Permit administration is handled in-house. The team coordinates with Montgomery County DPS and, for homes inside city limits, the City of Gaithersburg, and it holds MHIC License #127743 in Maryland and DCRA License #420220000070 in Washington, DC. Code and structural questions are worked into the design from day one.

Can you remodel a bathroom in a high-rise condo?

Yes. Recent Google reviews come from a penthouse owner and from a high-rise condo building in North Bethesda, where the team renovated a primary bath and closets. In reply to one review the owners wrote that navigating high-rise condo renovations with minimal disruption is what they strive for across Bethesda.

Will you take on a small repair or partial update?

No. AC Remodeling does not take minor repairs, handyman tasks or partial updates. The firm focuses on complete remodels such as custom kitchens, primary suites and finished basements, where one accountable team can manage design, permits and construction from start to finish under a single contract.
